  • Aurora Historical Society, located in the Restored Hardware Store on Main Street, is open the first Saturday of June, July and August from 1pm to 4pm; the weekend before Thanksgiving; and tours by appointment anytime by calling (319) 634-3339, (319) 634-3396, or (319) 334-3319

    Aurora Action Planners, a group of area business owners, sponsor an Old Fashioned Christmas Open House in November. This annual event features decorated shops and a variety of crafts people located in the City Fire Station.  "The Little Town That's A Bit Old Fashioned," old fashioned street lights adorn our Main Street into the City Park.

  • The City of Aurora is known as "The Little Town That's A Bit Old Fashioned." Just a short drive down C57 from the Amish Countryside will bring you to Aurora. In this small and friendly community, you can find unique shops, historical sites. Situated in the county's largest park is the Jakway House, just one mile south of town. At Jakway, campers are always welcome. The Aurora Community Club hosts the annual July 4th Celebration, complete with old fashioned fireworks.

  • The Aurora Christian Teens in Service, a nonprofit youth group, meet every first and third Sunday of the month in St. Paul's Lutheran Church to discuss business and plan fun trips and outings.

  • The Aurora American Legion & Auxiliary Post 435 is located on Warren Street, half a block west of Main St. Seating for over 200, air conditioning, handicap accessibility, extra restrooms, and a lot of parking space. "Fast Service In A Friendly Place!" Aurora American Legion serves all-you-can-eat pancake breeakfast the second and fourth Sundays of January, February and March.
